A 15-meter-tall statue of Tetsujin 28-go (Iron Man No. 28) is unveiled Tuesday in Nagata Ward, Kobe, one of the areas hardest hit by the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake. Residents built the steel statue to express their hopes for the city’s revival with the help of the classic comic hero from the 1950s, which was created by the late cartoonist Mitsuteru Yokoyama, a Kobe native.
